Stepping Stones

Well, been a fun weekend here on 313.  Sadly, Brett got 2 calls Friday night, both in Tennessee. Brett will be meeting with the families tomorrow, Monday, because of all the weather here.  So I've had Brett working on my minor, but oh so important "honey-do" list.

First up: weather stripping.  Why on earth I didn't have him do this the day we moved into Circa 1903, is beyond me.  But our back door has an inch gap that you can see and feel the outside.  I guess it was the fact that it was 18 degrees last night, prompted today's quick fix.  The kitchen registered 56 degrees this morning.  So Weather Stripping up. I'll be interested to see what else he "decides" needs weather stripping. This could get funny.  He only bought 3 rolls for one door... hmmmm.

Next, I organized the kitchen cabinets this morning. It amazes me how stuff gets so scrambled and empty tea boxes and vegetable oil containers get left behind. Must be the doing to Ajax and Sammie. Brett brought me home a box so I could pack up all 992 extra water glasses we had in the cabinet.  One day we will need them, I feel certain. Is this hoarding??  Oh jeez.

Lastly, hes laying down brick stepping stones to his  "SHED".

If someone would politely call my husband, and inform his this is not a path, but cluster sucker, that would be great. I don't have the
 heart to inform
him he has accomplished nearly nothing, and as the picture
shows you, and cracked one in the process. Why did he buy 9 anyway? Even Ajax doesn't get it.

But to everyone's dismay, he did not get a heater, air conditioner or a refrigerator from Santa.  He did inform me yesterday  of this though:

"If we wind up having 2 girls, I'm getting a bigger shed."
-I replied "Well, what do I get if we have 2 boys?"
"Oh I'm going to need a bigger shed too then"
-My reply "No, that wasn't the question.  If you get a bigger shed, what do I get?"
"Oh anything you want."

You've heard it people, ANYTHING I WANT. :)

We now will begin a list of spring cleaning we need to accomplish when its nice and warm outside. I can't wait to sit outside under the oak tree and feel the warmth. I miss those days.

I took these photos yesterday, as proof our doggies have bonded to sisters.

Oh Winter Night

These Friday nights are getting awfully boring recently!  I guess to simply state it, Brett and I's life is up for major changes these past few weeks.  In the bittersweet symphony, our devoted Bobby has retired from Waller Funeral Home, which left Brett to fill his shoes.... of the on-call duties that is.  Since January 1st, Brett has taken over Bobby's retired sleepless nights and now we patiently wait on-call every Tuesday and Thursday and then every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday, day and nights.  Previously, Brett was only on-call Mondays and Thursday about half of the year (gotta love the cotton!). But now that Bobby's getting his well deserved rest, we grow up and step up the ladder.

So here were are another boring Friday night.  It's going to take some adjusting to allowing ourselves to continue socially as we have on non-call weeks and weekends.  But I do believe this is in good time for us.  A change. A new lifestyle that we need rapidly adjust to before the dawn on August's sweet gift is with us.  Stay Warm and Cozy!
