New Roots!

Well most would be proud, things are coming to a clear picture in Barron's anticipated arrival!

So I sent ALL day Saturday, in Memphis doing baby stuff. Found some clothes to cover my own butt, and now the baby's rooms has a true plan. I found a crib, furntiture, glider, picked out my custom bedding, curtains, twin/daybed bedding. Serious improvements. Next, I called the hospital and booked the classes they require us to take before Lil B gets here. I called a nanny, she's got us "down" for taking care of Lil B. Going to check out a few other nanny options as well. :) Things are just coming together!

Sunday, we were shorthanded at the Funeral home, so I got to try out my cap in the funeral scene. Nothing serious though, don't worry. I was only in charge of phones and flowers. We have been exceptionally busy up there this year thus far. Couldnt answer why or how, but nothing the Waller clan can't accomplish with the utmost professionalism. (yes a plug, but a true plug.)

Brett was elated today to begin tilling his garden. (It was 74 degrees here!!!!) He's dug up another 10x20 section in the back that is strictly for cucumbers and something else. Sorry, dont remember what. And made a raised bed for the strawberries. But we plan to have lots of vegetable this year, MORE pickles (30 jars did NOT cut it this year, even close), and a variety of other canning. I have deicded to take up canning this summer, to help pass my time when I'm as big as an elephant.
On the list of vegetable to be grown:
1. Tomatoes
2. Cucumbers
3. Jalapeno Peppers
4. Cayenne Peppers
5. Some other pepper (he says it looks like a giant hot peppers)
6. Carrots
7. Strawberries
8. Onions
9. Artichoke
10.Red and green Bell Peppers
11.basil/cilantro (we can never get this stuff to grow)
13. Dill
14.Okra (possibly)
15. Pumpkins (for lil B's first Halloween!)
16. Watermelons
17. Sunflowers
And I've forgotten the rest, but there is more, undoubtedly.

I actually enjoy canning. I only did tomato sauce, and pickled Jalapeno peppers this past year. I did HELP with the pickles too though. I've been reading online about canning for ideas on what to can and lots of women are terrified of it! Its such a simple process and basically has all the same ingredients (liquid, salt, hot water, your vegetable and a jar). Oh well, I'm ready to expand my canning resume this year. I plan to can: Tomato Sauce, Tomato Paste, Salsa, Roasted Red Peppers, Sweet Potato Butter, carrots for little b, and whatever other vegetables he will be able to eat as baby food that I am able to can.

Leaving you with my Pioneer Side to remember how delish our pickles are. Ahhhhh the spice of the Rosson's pickles. Yum.
